Out on the land, young people learn to grow food from soil to sale. They plant it, tend it, harvest it, price it, and sell it. They learn the real trade: soil and water, pests and seasons, food safety, and what it takes to bring a crop to a customer. And while their hands are busy, something else happens — the guard drops, and the hard conversations come up on their own, shoulder to shoulder in a row of greens instead of a circle of chairs. Mentors who've walked the same road lead the work, with a licensed clinician standing behind it. The land does what a worksheet never could.
And mud isn't a program you finish. It's a field you belong to. Young people rise through it at their own pace — from Explorer, to Grower, to Apprentice, to Peer Leader, leading the ones coming up behind them. There's always a next rung.
